  • What I’ve Learned

The quality of your life will come down to the quality of your contributions.

What I Learned:

I was given two pieces of advice for the new year from a mentor that initially seemed paradoxical.

But the more I sat with them, the more complimentary they became—until I realized they worked in tandem.

I am passing them on and wish you nothing but success in the New Year.

Advice Numero Uno:

I want you to take each category below and invest in each daily to become wealthy in 2025:

  • Professional Wealth—30 minutes of pure focus on your priority task for the year.

  • Social Wealth—Text, call, or connect with one new or existing friend, family member, or colleague (even a short text counts)

  • Mental Wealth— 5 minutes of free-form journaling, prayer, or focused-gratitude

  • Physical Wealth—60 minutes of movement

By the end of the year, you’ll have spent 26 hours of focused work on your priority task, connected with someone else every single day, invested 5 hours in your mental well-being, and invested 52 hours in your physical health.

Based on the average American, this daily effort will put you in the top echelon. I promise you’ll be able to find time in the week for each, regardless of how busy you are—most of your peers will spend more minutes scrolling per week than on these categories.

Own these time blocks.

Advice Numero Dos:

Accept this alternative and unfashionable notion: Don’t try to control time all the time…

Let Time Use You.

Approach life not as an opportunity to implement your predetermined plans—but as an opportunity to best respond to the needs of your place and moment in history.

You’re right here, right now.

Whatever challenge is in front of you, that’s the challenge that’s meant for you. Embrace it.   Don’t obsess over what you should be doing; respond with courage to what time might bring you in 2025. …Even in the mundane moments on a Tuesday.

A life of completed checklists and easy achievements is not the pathway to growth and happiness—on the contrary, it’s how you get stuck and confused.

Stay disciplined about what you can control and embrace what you can’t.
